5 Questions with Sydney Bright
1. Where were you/what did you do before working at Seriously?
Before Seriously, I was the Creative Executive for Bento Box Entertainment, where I co-ran the development department. During my time as Creative Executive, I sold over 13 shows to various networks including Apple, Netflix, FOX and Comedy Central to name a few. Prior to working in development, I was in production running the in-house design and animation teams for Comedy Central’s Brickleberry, Hulu’s The Awesomes, and FOX’s Emmy-Award Winning Bob’s Burgers.
2. What is your current role at Seriously?
I’m the Director of Animation Development here at Seriously, where I work closely with Claudia De La Roca (our producer) and Matt McMahon (Head of Business Development) to produce the animated shorts for Best Fiends. I’m tasked with expanding our pool of writing talent to continue to elevate the storytelling for our 2020 shorts (and beyond) as well as assist in developing an eventual television series based on Best Fiends.
3. What’s your favorite part about your job?
Learning more about the mobile gaming industry has been really exciting so far. The content world is rapidly changing and approaching storytelling from multiple unique angles is a really exciting challenge.
4. Who is your favorite Fiend or Slug and why?
Vega – I’ve always thought fireflies were really cool.
5. When you are not working at Seriously or playing Best Fiends, what do you enjoy doing?
I’m a bit of a fitness junkie so anything physically active, I’m in! I also love to cook and bake, so I guess you could say the two balance each other out!
