5 Questions With…Oskar Koli
1. Where were you/what did you do before working at Seriously?
I began my career in the games industry as a Junior Programmer Trainee at Rovio in 2012, where I mainly worked on various web versions of Angry Birds. I then served in the military for a year before I joined a company that makes WiFi analysis hardware. I had only been working there for a few months when I was contacted by someone from Seriously asking if I’d like to “come in and discuss my future with the company.” So I did and was hired as a Junior Game Programmer. That was almost four years ago.
2. What is your current role at Seriously?
My current title is “Technology Programmer.” In this role I don’t work on the games themselves so much, rather I develop tools and technologies that support the game team’s work. My main responsibility is to maintain and improve our internal analytics system.
3. What’s your favorite part about your job?
I love coming up with solutions to difficult problems, and exploring and learning about new technologies to help improve Best Fiends game analytics.
4. Who is your favorite Fiend or Slug and why?
I’ve had a love-hate relationship with Kwincy for the longest time, but over the years we’ve developed mutual respect for each other.
5. When you are not working at Seriously or playing Best Fiends, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy hanging out with my friends, exercising and spending time outdoors.
