5 Questions With…Andrew Stalbow
5 Questions with Andrew Stalbow
1. Where were you/what did you do before working at Seriously?
I worked in a team at 20th Century Fox where we built the mobile business for its Television and Film studios, working with properties such as ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Avatar.’ And then I went to work at Rovio, helping support business development for the company’s Angry Birds brand.
2. What is your current role at Seriously?
I am the CEO, where I focus on trying to ensure that our fantastic team has all the resources and support to be very successful.
3. What’s your favorite part about your job?
Working with talented people across the company who wholly invest in the audience experience above everything else.
4. Who is your favorite Fiend or Slug and why?
Gordon was the first character our artist, Miguel Francisco, drew, with Gordon transforming from cute to increasingly ‘fiendish’ as he leveled up. I remember seeing that initial drawing, and feeling that the world we were going to build was special, and had the potential to connect with a lot of people. I also have a soft spot for the hairy slug — he makes me laugh just looking at him. Can I say a third? I do like Howie, our wizard lizard, because he very much appreciates his special British accent.
5. When you are not working at Seriously or playing Best Fiends, what do you enjoy doing?
A few things: hiking with my wife in the Santa Monica Mountains; watching my two daughters dance; watching my son play soccer; and supporting the greatest football team in the UK, Watford. I’m also partial to collecting art from markets in France, and struggling to get that artwork back to LA on British Airways.
